M130
I own a Palm m130. This is my second Palm PDA (succeeding the m500), and my third PDA of any brand, purchased after a Sharp Zaurus 5500. As of May, 2005, I have replaced the m130 with a Tungsten T5.
I like the m130 well enough. The screen is just a hair smaller than that of the m500, and the unit dimensions are larger. Aside from the color display, the switch has been a downgrade. Still, it performs all the necessary tasks and is a fine PDA in its own regard.
[edit] Hardware modifications
I have performed a slight hardware upgrade on my m130. The battery drains quickly even under light use, much faster than my m500 ever did. Where the m500 might last 3-4 weeks at peak, I am cautious when the m130 approaches two weeks without a charge. I replaced the battery with an unused model from PDAparts.com, but, unfortunately, battery life has not improved.
Damage caused during this maintenance has stripped the top two screws on the reverse side of the unit. Part of the blue faceplate has also started to peel, though I believe this part is interchangeable.
